In the past, I’ve had annoying spams and text messages sent to my number so I had Verizon block my text messaging feature. Prime example, today, I received 5 text messages from the same person thinking he/she was reaching someone they know. I finally had to reply and say I’m that that person they are trying to reach. Just found today by talking to a Verizon rep that when I got my new Droid (at the end of Nov) that the blocking feature wasn’t carried over to my new calling plan. So, all those messages plus the one I replied to cost 20 cents each.

I asked the Verizon rep how much to add text messaging to my plan. $5.00 per month for 250 text messages not to exceed 160 characters.

Bottomline: How many of Droid users have text messaging?
Is it worth? I am already paying $100/month for 2 lines.

I don’t text message at all, mainly because I think it is stupid. I have email. I can email or call anyone I am trying to reach anytime. Why text? Maybe I can see the value when I am bury alive under an earthquake? But by then it’s too late. No?

I really like the handcent app for text messages, but a couple of problems that I need help on….1..when i get a text message both apps go off.(2 ringtones)..original app and handcent…2. if i tap on the handcent app i can read and reply but i cant send "new message"….can i turn off the original text message app and just use handcent? how do i send "new message" using handcent…the other issue is that my status keeps showing the icon for message and i have to manually clear it, where as before once i read a message the icon went away on the status bar….thanks for your help.

How can I determine if my received text messages have been sent to multiple recipients.

I used to have a BB Storm and it would provide this information…I tell when my received texts were sent to mulitple people.

Is this possible on the Droid?

if it’s free, i’d like it to be my default text program. how do i change it?

HELP! I’m sorry if there is a thread discussing this problem already, but i did a search and couldn’t find anything. My problem is with text messaging, when i get a text that has a picture and text, the picture shows first for a few seconds then the text for a few, and i can’t read the text before the message goes back to the beginning, i tried to copy the text to the sd but all it will copy is the pic. I emailed it to my yahoo email to see if i could get the text and that worked but how do i read it from the text message? Sorry this is so long but throwing everything out there. I am using the stock app, haven’t changed a thing on it and honestly don’t really want to, but if i have to i will.

this has been going on for quite awhile, figured it may just be temporarily… this is really starting to interfere with my communication… some people say they didnt get a text i sent like an hour ago, etc, stuff like that… i’ve rebooted a few times but it still does this… any suggestions?

I’ve sent this question to Evernote support but since I don’t have a Premium account it goes to the bottom of the list so I thought I’d direct it to all of you who are using Evernote on your Droids.
I have put some web pages and other things into the PC 3.5 version of Evernote. When it syncs the images contained in the note show in the thumbnails but not in the note itself on the Droid. Everything works fine on the PC and on my iPod touch.
Evernote says it should work on the Droid also but I have not been able to see the images. they suggested I sign out of Evernote on the Droid and sign back in. When I did that the images showed in the thumbs but still not in the note (previously they did not show in the thumbs either). I’ve rebooted my Droid but still No Joy.
Is anyone else using Evernote on their Droid having this same issue? I’m trying to narrow the problem.

I will try and explain this to the best of my ability, I am not that smart.
I have an iphone and I would like to not use it for a while and just use my Droid. If someone text messages me on my iphone I would like it to be forwarded to my droid just like the phone calls can. I spoke to a Verizon person and they said that this is impossible. Is that True?
I already know that I can manually forward the messages, this is not what I am looking for, I want to put my iphone in a drawer and have everything forwarded to my droid.

Is there a way to increase the text size on the front screen of the droid and under the icons? Some of us are getting a bit old and need bigger letters.

I downloaded a ringtone with the idea that I’d assign it to my girlfriend’s text messages. But, I can’t figure out how. I have the app Ringdroid and using that I’ve assigned it to the ringtone that plays when she CALLS me, but we use texts 99% of the time, so I’d like to assign it to that for her texts only. I know how to make it the default ringtone that plays when I get ANY text, but that’s not what I’m looking for. Is that even possible?
