I want to be able to change the Verizon Wireless text to something I want to put on… How do I do it???

I searched, so if this has been addressed previously I apologize.

I have a Moto Droid, and manually upgraded to 2.2; now when typing on websites (like the dialog box here when building/replying to a thread), the ‘cover’ screen with the text no longer comes up (like when composing a text message). Is this a setting I can change, or am I stuck with this?

It’s maddening to try and see one line of text as I am typing all the time, rather than the entire box.

Hi, I am hoping someone a bit more tech savvy than myself can help me with an issue.

My Droid phone died over the weekend, and I received a new one under warranty, swapped my SD card and battery, and everything is running great.

But, I thought my old texts would be on the SD card, and it appears they are not.

Is there anyway to retrieve the text messages from the old, dead, phone? It is dead dead, as in, cannot even power it up.

I was not smart enough to use an SMS backup program on the old phone (first app I downloaded on the new one, learned that lesson), but maybe there is some other way to get my messages off the old phone now?

the SMS/Text notification icon/ringtone and flashing light are great. But I HATE that the Droid displays scrolling text of the text message sender followed by the actual text of the message. I was recently letting a friend use my internet browser and a moderately embarrassing text from my wife displayed up there and I could see a million horrible situations arising. Even when my phone is locked I believe the scrolling text notifications are visible to anyone holding the phone. NOT GOOD.

How do i turn off just the scrolling text?

Just happen to notice that on 2.2, there is a box with a Droid in it and above that box it says "Me." All the people I text have a picture and I was wondering if there was a way I could put a picture on my "me" box.

Is there a way to get rid of it? I use GV.

I’ve gone into the settings for my text messages and checked the Notifications box under Notification Settings, but they’re not showing up. Some people’s texts do, but most people don’t. I have to check my messages every so often to see if I have any, which is a pain. Anyone have any tips?

I’m going crazy over here searching through random settings trying to figure out what’s up.

How the heck did I accidently turn this off? And more important, how do I turn it back on? I use it a lot, then all of a sudden, the little microphone button has changed.

I havent used the phone in any way than I normally do. I"ve tried a simple reboot and a battery pull. Nothing.

Why is it that sometime when I send a picture as an attachment in my text message it show up in my text message on it’s side. Not the way the picture is in my Gallery.

Is there a way to send a picture and it will appear right side up in my message ??

I was running UD 10.0 which had Apps2SD built in then when I switched to the 2.2 ROM that come out my internal memory become full. I forced move a bunch of apps using Titanium Backup on to the SD card but even still i can’t seem to move enough of anything to get my internal memory open.

I keep getting messages full, rejecting message or something on my phone now. I erase all my messages (since they are backed up anyway) sometimes i still get it,, rather annoying.. I have wiped cache a couple of times and it helps for a day or two but that’s it.

Can anyone help me out with either of these issues??
