Motorola Droid News

Hey guys quick question for ya. So I had an LG phone and on said phone I purchased a ring back tone. Now that I have a Droid my ring back tone I was told is only good for the LG phone. Now when people call me they get the generic classical music even though I have changed my normal ring tone on my phone. I don’t want to buy another ring back tone so how do I change what the caller hears to just ringing or what ever the generic Verizon greeting was?

So I was at my friends house today, we were talking about my buying a new case. I got one for Christmas and immediately dropped the phone a few days later. Though it was expensive, a few falls and the top of it broke off permanently. Sadly, I now have the bottom and thats it. He told me as he looked at my phone that the screen part is really loose, in his opinion of course, and also that my Menu button is differently colored than the rest of my buttons on the screen.

My question is, should I be concerned? The Droid still works perfectly except for a little slowdown once in awhile but Im sure thats the phone. The screen slides out perfectly as well, though Im sure it is looser. He also has a very sturdy case on his that would take any space between the screen and keyboard if there was any. Im waiting for a new case in the mail right now, its a cheap one but itll do until I can afford another really decent one.

I,ve been trying to sync my contacts with gmail after a reset. I keep getting a message that sync is currently down. Can somone please check and see if they get the same message.

Props to Motorola/Google for making such a tough phone!

I was working on hooking up my sound system to my car and I had to take a picture of the under-side of an amp to hook the wires to it (since it was mounted to a speaker box I didn’t want to unmount it to hook up the wires – so taking a pic was the next best thing). …..

Anyway, to make a long story short, once everything was finally hooked up, I slammed my trunk shut – well not entirely. It wouldn’t close all the way b/c my DROID was still sitting on the edge of the trunk, on the right edge. Well, needless to say I had a mini-freakout, but looking again, my DROID seemed unscathed. I looked at the screen – unscratched/uncracked. I picked it up, expecting to see it bent somehow, or cracked or even ’stressed’ seams in the plastic – shiny black and not a scratch. I gingerly touched the screen, thinking I had completely damaged the sensitivity – everything responds as if it never happened!

AND! All this w/o any screen protector or carrying case (though I am still going to purchase one here in the near future).

ok so ive been having my droid since day 1. and after awhile my keyboard started getting bubbly nd jst out of place and i had a few scratches so since i have insurance i decided to get a new one. so i jst got my new droid in today and when i activate the NEW droid. i noticed all my apps and everything arent there anymore =[ i went into the market and went into the download history but nothing was dere only the ones that i have paid for. does this mean i have to re-downlaod everything??

From reading the posts on this forum, I’m sure that my question will be considered blasphemy. I am happy with 2.0.1.

What’s the big deal with 2.1?

I can’t use all the functions that I’ve got. I really like the droid with 2.0.1. Don’t want to see it screwed up.

What can I look forward to if there is an update to 2.1. So far it just looks like window dressing, not big changes.

i added them to the mem card and i can set them as my ringtones and stuff butim wanting to text one to my buddy and i cant find them. i cant find where to access the card or the phone memory either. any help on the destination path?

Got caught up in a Woot frenzy and purchased the Cradlepoint PHS300 3g Router – basically you tether your 3G phone to it, and you and up to 15 friends can access the internet from laptops, etc, anything capable of wifi.

Unfortunately, the Moto Droid is not on the list of supported phones. Has anyone found a way to "make it work"? Dont want to open it up if it is a no-go. Would rather flea-bay it as NIB.
