I am currently using a rooted Motorola Droid running Froyo Sapphire 1.0. I was wondering if there was a way that I could delay the locking mechanism on the phone. When I had an iPhone I could set a 5 minute delay before it locked the phone and required a pin.
With the droid it seems that I cannot set a time for the screen lock to occur. It will occur following the display value.
Is there a setting that I’m missing or an application that can reproduce the functionality of the iphone? Thanks
What has happened to these ROMS they looked way more modern and different then the roms i am seeing now…….I’d compare the ROMS now to just havin an Iphone. I attached some screenshots of what ive seen. Mostly like the simply stunning 4.6 by chevy
HOW CAN WE GET THIS
ultimate droid versions 7.8, 8.3, 9 , and 10
in noway am i trying to offend anyone just trying to be different and get the best working rom for my droid. I love what the developers have done and will do in the future.
My brother won a droid a few months ago and it has been sitting in his closet since because he doesn’t want to pay the $30 for the unlimited data plan. Now I know (because I have a droid myself) that a data plan is a necessity for the phone, and have tried to convince him on numerous occasions to get a data plan, but he is not giving in. I also have a friend that does not have a data plan, and has a 1st generation iPhone. He told me that he was able to mess around with an APN files on the iPhone to make it so there is no data coming in or out of his phone.
I have tried two different ways to turn off the data. The first one was downloading APNdroid, but that method is not working. I am still able to access webpages and background data is still coming through to my phone.
The second method that I tried was to dial *#*#4636#*#* and then disabling dataconnection from there, but the phone just reverts back to original settings after a restart.
Does anyone have any suggestions, besides him getting rid of it or does anyone know of a hack?
The Participants are: Nokia N900, Nokia N97 mini, Motorola Droid, Sony Ericsson X10, Sony Ericsson Satio, Acer Neo Touch s200, iPhone 3GS, HTC HD2, HTC Hero.
Apparently, I left out an important detail when I’ve talked about the N900 in anticipation of it’s arrival because Neal, my husband who is with me all the time didn’t know that the N900 is able to make phone calls. Go figure. Let’s start by looking at the industrial design. I have an iPhone 3GS here along with a Motorola Droid and the Nokia N900. The iPhone and Droid are almost exactly the same height and width. The Droid is a little thicker than the iPhone to accommodate the slider keyboard and the removable battery. The Nokia N900 is the same width as the iPhone and Droid, but its quite a bit thicker. I thought it would be fun to pull out the kitchen scale and weigh them. The iPhone is 4.7 ounces. The Droid is 5.9 ounces and the N900 is 6.4 ounces. Specs we’ve talked about, but let’s hit them again. The processor is 600MHz. There’s 1GB of application memory. It has a 3D Graphics accelerator with Open GL ES 2.0 support. It has 32G of storage out of the box and you can expand that to 48 gigs with a microSD card. The camera is 5 megapixels with a dual LED flash. The screen is 800X480, 3.5 inches diagonal and has resistive touch. The N900 has two hardware features that I hadn’t expected. It has a built-in FM transmitter for playing audio through your radio’s speakers. I had to put the phone on top of the receiver for the FM transmitter to work, but sitting on top of the receiver, it sounded really, really good. It also has what I think could be a killer feature if …
i’m not sure how many people may be looking for something like this, but i was and thought it would be nice to share it with others.
all you have to do is unzip the file and place it on your SD card under media, then audio, and then finally in the notifications folder. then just simply select it as your email and/or sms tone.
hope that it works for everyone. enjoy! dancedroid
A quick review of the HTC Eris. Check back for more videos including a comparison between the motorola droid, eris, iphone. Thanks for watching and I apologize for the video quality because it was taken with my isight camera (need a new camcorder).
Listen to the whole interview: www.wnyc.org The Motorola Droid is the latest smartphone to hit the market. Is it an ‘iPhone killer’? To settle the issue, two WNYC producers, On the Media’s Mark Phillips, an Android enthusiast, and The Takeaway’s Jim Colgan, an iPhone aficionado, bring their water-cooler debates on the air for a showdown.
I’m using Bugless Beast V0.4 with an overclocked 1.2GHz Kernel. Because I just was issued an iPhone 4 from my company, I will be selling and cancelling my Droid’s plan.
Can anyone update me on how to restore it back to factory Android 2.1 stock image? I would really appreciate it.
