7 Android Update 2.2 ( Froyo) Questions I need answered

Ok Ive been waiting ever since July to get Froyo on my Moto Droid and now it has reached the 18th which is the date that: engadget, phandroid, android news, and droid forums said it should be wrapped up by and I havent gotten it yet.

Question #1: I got 2.1 at 12:01 at night, is there a specific time people are recieving this OTA?

Question #2: Is there a possibility I may be/ have been skipped?

Question #3: If I update manually will I still get the OTA?

Question #4: If I ever do get Froyo ( doubt it ) and I got the stuck on motorola boot sign is there a way anyone can help me into nuzzeling Verizon out of a Moto Droid 2?

Question #5: Will the OTA (if i ever get it) drain my battery significantly?

Question #6: Will there be an overclocking app with the OTA ?

Question #7: Ive been practically obsessed with this update, watching the google press C’s on youtube over and over, is it worth all this fuss?

Thanks to anyone who can help me out, Ive been so confused with all this controversy ever since VZW and Moto have been releasing dates that their not falling through with.:motdroidvert: Droid Forever:motdroidhoriz: Im an extremely dedicated to Googles Android and Verizon and Motorola, andwilll certainly appreciate any help anyone can offer, God Bless.:greendroid:

Moto Droid reboots randomly / sometimes goes to bootloader with nand error!

Hi everyone, just a bit off topic but this site has helped out so much gotta love the search box dancedroid

Sorry, anyway, I received my droid a few days ago, went home and promptly rooted it, for about a day no worries, no issues, no complaints, then it started.. It would reboot for no apparent reason then go into the boot loader and give me a NAND error. I flipped got upset and said screw it, I wasn’t really over clocking it by much anyway.

I get the 2.0.1 SBF file, RSD the lil sucka to my phone, so that when it upgrades to 2.1 everything should be stock. (Yup, that was from here; forget which thread or I’d give credit).

After all day at work the phones working kosher, no complaints I’m downloading and touring the phone like nobody’s business. When I get home, I set the phone down for God knows how long, and come back when I hear the "Droiiiid" I go back to the phone and see it’s back to its’ old tricks, a short while after it reboots again, this time it’s stuck on the boot loader screen and it says NAND error, battery OK, etc.

Any ideas? Should I just take it back to V and call it a day?

so my friend says his Nexus One is superior…

Long story short, he has T-Mobile and the Nexus One. I have Verizon and bought the Droid only a few days ago. His first reaction to the news was that his Nexus One is superior to the Droid in every way. He acts as though his phone is God.

According to him, the Nexus One has a 1 Ghz processor, which he claims is faster than both the iPhone and Droid. But aren’t we able to effectively overclock the Droid and run the processor at similar speeds?

Is the Nexus One really that much better?

I’m not trying to stir any controversy or arguments. I guess it would be nice to have some ammunition to fire back at him with :)

Any way to get corp exchange email or get outlook to forward?

I know this might be a little OT with respect to the droid, but not totally. I tried and failed and expected to fail in setting up my droid to access my corporate ms exchange email. I’m sure my company has some sort of restrictions I can’t or don’t know how to get around. We have to be approved by some god somewhere to be able to use devices like a b-berry or droid so I’m sure they have a way to keep unapproved people out. I’m wondering if anyone knows another way? Or do you know of a function or app that I could run on my PC that would take the emails I receive in outlook and forward them to one of my other email accounts that I can access from the droid? Is there a better forum to post this in?

So, I switched my Eris to the Droid. and OMG. I am LOVING this phone.

I bought the Dock, and the verizon case with the Chrome trimming, which BTW fits in the Dock, you just have to take the back case off, and i must say it looks stylish, chrome on chrome. i’ll have to take a picture soon.

but wow. lol god I’m so happy i got rid of the Eris.
