Question ONLY for those who say android Does Not Need task killer…

I have had advanced task killer on my phone forever. I play a game called Raging Thunder online with my phone alot. The game freezes up often. I use the task killer to end it, otherwise, when I try to start it again, I get a blank screen or the frozen still frame it last displayed.
After seeing so many members tell others it was not needed, I decided to un-install it. I have the new 2.2 and was still having it freeze occasionally so I thought I’d try it without the task killer on the phone. (I’m running my droid 1 stock BTW)
So the first time the darn game freezes, I go to start it again, blank screen. :icon_evil:
I look around for another way to end it without re-booting the phone. I go to settings, applications, running services and I don’t see it there. I proceed to click on some things I see there but I don’t kill anything cause the couple things I click on warn of bad things happening with services I do recognize, like weather etc…Then all of a sudden my phone is frozen; had to do a battery pull. I think that’s only the 2nd time I ever been forced to do that in 9 months of ownership.
Please enlighten me about another method that’s equally as fast as clicking the old TK & ending the program, then promptly re-starting it to play again.
I’m waiting for the answer that works. If I don’t get an answer that works for me, I’m re-installing the task killer.

TERRIBLE battery life

tl;dr – 8 hours of battery life. wtf.

For some reason, I have absolutely horrible battery life.

I fully charged it at about 2pm today.

I downloaded a few apps, did a little browsing, not much texting today. I listened to Pandora for a while, and I had my facebook and twitter widgets open, and this one for gaming news widget, and played a game for maybe 10 minutes

8 o’clock rolls around, and I have to go into work for a couple hours. My battery is at 45%, I’m like "Ok this will last me until I get off work at 12."

I get to work 8:45, turn on Pandora, send a few texts, and just let Pandora run.

10:30pm my phone dies…So I went through a full battery in 8 hours. How is this possible?

And I was killing tasks that I wasn’t using with Astro.

Is this battery worth it? Seidio – Your Single Source for Premium Smartphone Accessories

Posted on 19th April 2010 by garret in Droid Updates | Tags: , , , , , ,

just a few of the apps and games im checkin out im just gettin in to gettin the apps and stuff from market place

Apps aren’t being listed in Battery Usage screen..

I’m running Adamz Smoked Glass v6.0 and none of the apps show up in the battery usage screen, just the basics (phone idle, voice calls, wifi, display, etc). It may show an app or 2 likes maps or pandora every now and then when I used it, but it doesn’t show any other apps, such as homerun 3d game, google earth, ebay, etc whatever I use, it doesn’t even show up.

Why is that? Is there a solution to this?

Android Game Review: Crystallight Defense

Game:  Crystallight Defense
Publisher: Smartpix Games
Price: Demo available, full version $2.99

Description:
Crystallight is a game of “tower defence” genre with extensive online rating system and hours of exciting gameplay. (taken from the Crystallight Defense website)

Introduction:
While searching for another defense game in the Android Market that I’d been told about, I came across Crystallight Defense. It looked pretty good (I liked the graphics, honestly) so I opted to download it. After installing, I went through the tutorial and had a rather difficult time grasping the game. I started playing through individual battles, and to be quite honest, I struggled. It took me a couple days to beat the first battle (I left it on the default 40 waves). After beating it once, I started through the story mode, and found it rather easy. I’ve been hooked on the gameplay, and found myself enjoying it for hours when I have better things to do, like sleep.

Pros:
Addicting gameplay
Multiple levels of play in demo, and 40 levels in the paid version
Online rating system

Cons:
Tutorial leaves a bit to be desired
Game should have an “Additional Help” option that opens the website up in a browser

Graphics Rating: 3.5 out of 5 stars
Gameplay Rating: 4 out of 5 stars
Tutorial Rating: 2 out of 5 stars
Overall Rating: 3.17 out of 5 stars

Final Thoughts:
What started as a time killer to “play one before bed” turned into a bit of an addiction.  So much so that now, when I’ve found myself at a level that I’m unable to beat, I find myself frustrated and playing three or four times before giving in for the night.  It’s quickly become my favorite game to play on my phone, and the only game I’ve been addicted to more than this one was StarCraft.
